Adding Gadgets

The first gadget I added was 'label,' and so far I only have one: 'PLE', describing this assignment.
Then I added the gadget "Fish," because it was suggested in class, and I think it looks awesome. I personalized it by changing the color of each fish.
I also added gadgets for "Followers," so I could see who follows my Blog, "Blog List," so I could show you all what blogs I think are worth looking at, and "Feeds" so I could show you what other sites are worth looking at (such as lds.org).

First Blog

I've created my first blog! This is my first exposure to creating a blog. I don't have a Myspace, so this is my first attempt to really personalize webspace (I don't think Facebook allows much room for creativity. Which is fine with me, because I'm not that savvy). It wasn't very hard at all, except that the "v" key on the laptop I was using doesn't work, so that made typing interesting. (I've changed locations and fixed it now).
I don't feel very confident with technology. I know how to work my computer, my phone, my camera, and my television/DVD/VCR setup, but I get nervous trying to work with unfamiliar technology. I'm hoping this course will change that. I know that if I put forth the effort to experiment, I will gain more confidence and skills that I can use in my future classroom.
For this first assignment, I'm following the online rubric set up by Prof. Rick West, found here.
It has been very helpful. I'm surprised at how easy setting up a basic blog can be.
Another useful site is, of course, our class Google site. For my convenience I'm posting a link here.
